Topping-out ceremony BOLDER pharmaceuticals in Cologne
On April 01, 2021, exactly 97 years after the foundation of the company, the construction work of the extension started according to the plans of Carpus+Partner AG who were already responsible for the existing building.
We, CP Bauteam GmbH, are the lead contractor in our partnership-based Bauteam model. We are commissioned with the turnkey realization and ensure the quality, cost and deadline targets of the client. Carpus+Partner AG continues to provide support on the planning side.
The managing directors of BOLDER Pharmaceuticals, Andreas Dittrich and Dr. Franz-Josef Kohlenberg, as well as the technical project manager, Christoph Simon, are looking positively into the future and emphasize the importance of increasing production capacities in Germany and the region, also with the internationally growing clientele.
Dittrich added: “The modern architecture creates generous space for innovative technologies. The clean room technology meets the highest quality and hygiene specifications.”
However, the implementation of the plant on the neighboring property was not certain from the outset. A large logistics company was equally interested in the site. “In the end, the city of Cologne was well-disposed towards us, and 5 years later the site was finally ours,” reported Dr. Franz-Josef Kohlenberg.
Our appreciation goes expressly to our construction team partners, the executing companies, such as A. Frauenrath Bauunternehmen GmbH and W. Hundhausen Bauunternehmung GmbH and their employees, who literally erected the work conceived by the planners with their hands in wind and weather. Despite the difficult conditions -around the pandemic- they made it possible that this topping-out ceremony could take place on time.
“Unfortunately, the builders have to do without the beautiful tradition at the end of the topping-out ceremony of being carried around the building three times while sitting on a square timber. That would not be corona compliant.” joked Alexander Horsch, Managing Director CP Bauteam GmbH.
Over the next few weeks, the building envelope will be weatherproofed, and interior construction will begin in the last quarter of 2021. The planned completion date is mid-2022.
