iTWO SITE LAYS THE FOUNDATIONS FOR A SPECIALLY EFFICIENT BAUTEAM MODEL
Complex construction projects with ambitious schedule and cost targets are in good hands with CP Bauteam GmbH at their locations in Aachen, Cologne and Hamburg. Founded in 1987, the company specializes in technically and organizationally demanding projects and, together with Bauteam partners from a wide range of disciplines, realizes construction projects completely end-to-end – from conception to turnkey construction. Throughout Germany, CP Bauteam manages laboratory construction measures and other projects involving sophisticated technical building equipment for building construction projects of all kinds. The professionals at Bauteam are also well-versed in project management as well as construction and commissioning management, and their expertise always ensures the best possible cooperation between the parties involved in the project.
The Bauteam model Sven Hennig and his colleagues work with, has long been established, especially in the Netherlands. It is based on a particularly efficient frontloading. Here, all the companies involved are integrated into the joint project as early as possible and consistently provided with the relevant information. “Optimally, all partners have access to all the information that is important for the subsequent collaboration and at the same time beneficial for all sides as early as the first negotiation talks and at the latest during the commissioning phase,” explains Sven Hennig.
MAKING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS OPTIMALLY TRANSPARENT
In order to continuously optimize this frontloading, the company decided together with iTWO site from RIB in January 2021 for a SaaS solution especifically designed for the collaboration on the construction site. The project managers of CP Bauteam access the cloud solution of RIB Software via their PC workstation or mobile devices on the construction site. In this way, the construction process can be made more transparent for everyone involved – within the company and in exchange with partner companies.
During the construction of a laboratory building in Bergheim, where construction work started at the beginning of 2021, the new ITsolution could show what it can do in practice. The project is currently in the interior construction phase and is now entering the home straight.

MANAGE REMAINING SERVICES AND REQUESTS FOR MODIFICATION QUICKLY AND EASILY
“We directly realized that iTWO site facilitates our everyday work on the construction site,” is Sven Hennig happy to say. The RIB solution is the first program the site manager starts in the construction trailer in the morning. Before he goes out to the construction site, he always takes a look at the construction diary on the laptop first, which he maintains together with a team colleague. On the construction site, he uses a tablet or cell phone to document the entire construction process. Especially the possibility of documentating photos with iTWO site is a great help for the site manager and his team and the teams from external companies: “The photos make it easy for us to understand which remaining services of the individual trades still need to be carried out and which changes and adjustments we still need to make,” explains Hennig. In addition to defect management and plan management, the team has set up a special function for the client’s change requests in iTWO site,: “With this, I can virtually walk through the entire construction site with the client and note his correction requests via pin in the system. These will then automatically be found on all PDF printouts,” says the site manager.

ADVANTAGES WITH iTWO SITE QUICKLY APPARENT
Hennig and his team create all meeting minutes in iTWO site. The system assists with the planning and assigning of work and brings employees up to date with the latest information. In plan management, the team has recorded all events – 450 in number for this measure – which can now be checked off one by one as soon as they are completed. The software and the project started at virtually the same time. Therefore, there was actually no time for a classic software introduction for the key user Sven Hennig and his colleagues, which is admittedly why the plan management could only be started in a later project phase than is usual at CP Bauteam. Nevertheless, the initial advantages that the cloud solution brings, for example for construction site documentation and project communication, were quickly apparent. “Based on this experience, we are developing new processes and workflows that will then be used in later projects. The more experience we have, the more efficiently we can gradually use the solution in everyday construction site work,” explains site manager Hennig.

INFORMATION EXCHANGE WITH PARTNERS VIA iTWO SITE
Besides Sven Hennig, about eight people use the solution intensively on the construction site in Bergheim . Their task is to support the rest of the team in the application of the software. Here, Hennig and his teammates have already been able to share initial plan files with project partners via iTWO site. “If it is working and how depends, of course, on the respective willingness of the site managers and burnishers to digitilise,” the expert knows. Small and medium-sized as well as larger companies from heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing and technical building equipment sectors support CP Bauteam on site. Regardless of the size of the company, digitization has progressed to different degrees among the companies.

CONTINUOUS INFORMATION MANAGEMENT WITH THE iTWO PRODUCT FAMILY
Sven Hennig and his team are already now involved in defining processes that can be valid from the start for further projects in the future,. “Practice shows us exactly what we need,” explains Hennig. “Of course, the decisive factor is always a very intensive maintenance of the data in the system. In the medium to long term, the company aims at merging the new iTWO site software with the iTWO solution for project and cost management, which CP Bauteam has already in use since 2019. As the iTWO product family was designed to work in a completely integrated manner, this will allow processes on the construction site to be linked even more efficiently with tasks at management level. “iTWO is mainly used in project management.
