The Design & Build Conference Germany is taking place for the sixth time. This year, we are pleased to accompany the industry forum for partnership-based construction as a silver partner. Our colleague Dr.- Ing. David Klein will give a presentation on “Capacity Bottlenecks and Collapsing Supply Chains” – with the question of whether these can be better managed in a construction team, on a partnership basis?
With the Design & Build Conference, we provide together with RUECKERCONSULT the opportunity for direct exchange with all project parties working in partnership.
In the meantime, there are numerous projects in Germany that are handled according to partnership-based award models. However, the last few years have shown: There is an urgent need for a change of mindset on the German market if the partnership model is to continue to be successfully established. Only if planners, engineers, architects and contractors see themselves as a single unit will integration in planning and execution work. Rising prices for building materials and rising interest rates are an additional argument for building in partnership. Because only together can projects that are difficult to calculate be successfully realized.
This year’s conference will focus on the consequences resulting from the cocktail of inflation, construction and raw material costs, supply bottlenecks, rising interest rates, etc., without losing sight of the long-term challenge of sustainability. Using practical examples it will be shown that partnership models provide good solutions for the parties involved in this barely calculable situation. Various project parties report on the actual implementation in Germany and explain which communicative, legal and technical hurdles had to be overcome and what success models such as the construction team procedure, the general contractor model or the multi-party contract entail.
